Morse is a publishing platform for writers, not a content moderator of ideas. We do not review, endorse, or fact-check publications, and we take a hands-off approach to lawful content: writers are free to publish on any subject and express unpopular, controversial, or critical opinions. These Community Guidelines exist only to draw the line at content that is unlawful or that harms our users or the integrity of the platform. They supplement, and are incorporated into, our Terms of Use.
Every user is responsible for following these guidelines and all applicable local, national, and international laws, wherever their content is published or received.
Content that violates the law in any jurisdiction where it is published or received is prohibited. This includes, without limitation: content that infringes intellectual property; content that defames or maliciously falsely accuses; content that harasses, stalks, or threatens any person; content that promotes or facilitates terrorism or violent extremism; content that sexually exploits or endangers minors; and content that aids any criminal enterprise, including fraud, phishing, and the sale of unlawful goods or services.
Morse cannot be used to publish content or fund initiatives that incite violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics, including race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Calls to violence, terrorist propaganda, and extremist recruiting material are strictly prohibited, regardless of stated intent.
Using Morse to intimidate, bully, or threaten others is strictly prohibited. This includes targeted harassment campaigns, threats of violence or harm, and the publication of private personal information (such as home addresses, phone numbers, identity documents, or private contact details) of any person without their consent, where the intent or effect is to harass, intimidate, or endanger them.
Pornography and sexually exploitative content are not allowed on Morse, including visual depictions of sexual acts made solely for the purpose of sexual gratification. We strictly and absolutely prohibit any sexualised portrayal of minors or of any subject that appears to be a minor, whether real or synthetic and regardless of any age disclaimer. Suspected child sexual exploitation is reported to the relevant authorities without exception.
You may not pose as another person, brand, or organisation, or otherwise misrepresent your identity or affiliation. This also applies to Morse: you may not use Morse's name, logo, or trademarks in any way that misleads others. Presenting another person's writing as your own is prohibited. Misleading publications created primarily to deceive readers, such as phishing sites or fraudulent schemes, are prohibited. Good-faith opinion, satire, and commentary, however mistaken or controversial, are not treated as violations.
Morse may not be used for spamming, phishing, distributing malware, or for the bulk creation of accounts or publications. Subscriber lists must be built through genuine, opt-in consent; harvesting, purchasing, or scraping email addresses to send unsolicited mail violates these guidelines and applicable anti-spam laws.
When we become aware of content that violates these guidelines or the law, we will take action appropriate to the severity of the violation: we may issue a warning, require the removal or editing of specific content, suspend a publication, or permanently remove an account. In serious cases — including content endangering persons, sexual content involving minors, or credible threats — we will remove accounts immediately and cooperate fully with law-enforcement authorities, including disclosing information where legally required.
In accordance with our Terms of Use, Morse reserves sole and ultimate discretion over these decisions and is not liable for any financial loss a user may suffer as a result of enforcement action taken under these guidelines.
If you believe content on Morse violates these guidelines, please report it at team@morse.press with a link to the publication or post and a brief description of the violation. We review every report and will act where these guidelines or the law are breached.
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the revised guidelines on this page with an updated date.
